This project marked my first attempt at animating with Adobe AfterEffects. The assignment was to create an animation that captured the mood, tone, or style of a specific movie genre, and I chose to focus on the classic sci-fi spy genre. Drawing inspiration from films like Men in Black, I incorporated a variety of iconic elements such as old-school tape recorders, a briefcase bomb, dossiers, explosive gum, passports, silenced pistols, and a neuralizer-like device. The goal was to evoke the sleek, suspenseful atmosphere of espionage thrillers, combining both high-tech gadgets and vintage spy tropes. This project allowed me to experiment with animation techniques in AfterEffects while exploring how to create a cohesive visual narrative that conveys a specific genre’s essence.
